You also have the opportunity to sponsor the attendance of an upcoming graduate (May 2014) or recent grads (August or December 2013)! You can  name your sponsorship for a specific student or help out any of them. Help our students attend! Please indicate on the form if you are interested.

We have Justin Hoenke, teen librarian extraordinaire, as our speaker and we will be giving away the Kovacs Award to an amazingly deserving alumnus (or alumna)! Our speaker, Justin Hoenke, is a teen librarian and video gaming enthusiast who has written about these subjects for publications such as Library Journal, Voices of Youth Advocates and is a regular contributor for the blog Tame The Web.  Justin is a member of the 2010 American Library Association Emerging Leaders class and was named a Library Journal Mover and Shaker in March 2013. Justin is currently the Manager of The 2nd Floor/Teen Specialist at the Chattanooga Public Library in Chattanooga, TN.  His professional interests include community building, working with teens in libraries, video games, and creative spaces. UNCG MLIS Alumni Social in Saxapahaw!!!!

Please join us at UNCG’s MLIS Alumni Association Social on Saturday June2nd at the “Saturdays in Saxapahaw” outdoor concert and farmer’s market in southern Alamance County located close to anywhere in the Piedmont Triad. We will start gathering at around 5:30 pm. Those of us in the Alumni Association will have pictures of UNCG’s Minerva Logo proudly displayed on our chairs and blankets so we can all find each other.  Food and drink are available to buy or you can bring a picnic. There are special activities for kids.  Dogs are not allowed.
